Lionel D. Phillips, MBA (President)

has spent 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry. He is known as an innovative and solution-oriented marketing professional with extensive experience in sales and managed care. His accomplishments in marketing include the launch of the Diovan and Augmentin BID brands, driving each product to #1 in category performance and over $1 billion in sales.

Lionel has “carried the bag,” has led office-based and hospital-based sales forces to award-winning results and is recognized as an industry leader for his considerable contributions in sales training.

After a successful career at GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Lionel now serves as a valued consultant to management teams throughout the healthcare industry. He identifies actionable business solutions through strategic analysis, and is esteemed as a partner who produces significant results.


Judy Greener, MA (Senior Director)

brings 25 years of marketing research and consulting experience from both the client and supplier sides. For the past 15 years, she has been involved in strategic marketing consulting and qualitative and quantitative research design and analysis within the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Inside Edge Consulting, Judy held management roles in a number of other research organizations, including P/S/L Research America, Research International, TNS Healthcare, Opinion Research Corporation and Chilton Research.

In addition, Judy managed the Consumer Sciences Group at Johnson and Johnson, where she was responsible for consumer research supporting new product development in a range of OTC and Rx categories. Judy holds an M.A. in Communications from the Annenberg School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in Psychology from Brooklyn College, CUNY. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Social and Behavioral Health at Temple University.


Joseph Chowallur, MA (Executive Director)

brings to Inside Edge over 36 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Joe began his career as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative at GlaxoSmithKline. Successively building his career, he later worked at GSK as a District Sales Manager, Product Manager, Scientific Communication Director, Market Development Director and Regional Market Director.

Joe's expertise in sales, sales force recruitment, sales management, market development, strategic business planning, tactical execution and project management enables him to lead cross-functional teams to exceed business objectives in dynamic business environments. His track record of excellence has been recognized by numerous national awards at GSK. Joe holds BS and MA degrees from Calicut University, India.


Adam Warner, MBA (Director)

has 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He is a strategic thinker and is recognized for his experience-based business oriented solutions. Adam has deep experience in sales, market research, and product management across a variety of therapeutic categories at number of companies including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Astra and Boehringer Mannheim.

In addition to his strong client-side experience, he has worked as consultant for various companies within the industry and continues to serve in this capacity. Adam also teaches as an adjunct professor in the pharmaceutical MBA programs at both Rutgers and Seton Hall. He earned both his BS and MBA degrees from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro.


Jacqueline Williams, MD, FAAP (Senior Consultant)

is Division Chief of Critical Care Medicine and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She also serves as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Board-certified in intensive care, she is Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital.

In 2002, 2004, and 2006, Dr Williams was selected one of the Best Doctors in America. She has received awards for excellence in research from the Science of Critical Care Medicine, for excellence in teaching from both Robert Wood Johnson and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and for outstanding service from the Student National Medical Association and New York Medical College.

In addition to pharmacology and care of the critically ill, her areas of interest include toxicity, neurophysiology, bioethics, bloodless medicine, patient safety, performance improvement, and strategic planning.

She is active in the Society of Critical Care Medicine, American Academy of Pediatrics, and National Medical Association.


Michael Lampariello (Managed Care Consultant)

is a visionary strategic planner who has opened managed care segments and extended managed market penetration for oncology and other pharmaceutical/diagnostic brands. A 25+ year track record focuses on expanding brand profitability with managed care organizations (MCOs) and group purchasing organizations (GPOs).

Mike has been on the client side. As Eastern Regional Director, Account Management, at Roche Laboratories (2001-2005), Mike developed and implemented contracting strategies with integrated delivery networks and Specialty Care, and grew revenues from oncology GPOs and group practices. As Account Manager (1995-2001), he increased sales of Tamiflu, Xenical, and other brands at regional MCOs and health systems.

Other areas of expertise include senior-level executive recruitment for pharmaceutical and biotech companies, Sales and Account Management training and contract negotiations. At Medi-Physics (1980-1991), Mike integrated internal sales forces and consistently met sales objectives.

Mike is a member of the ASCP, ASHP and AMCP.


Sifor Ng (Senior Project Manager)

has worked in medical education and medical public relations for over 25 years.

An extensive experience in gastroenterology includes long-term collaborations with pharmaceutical firms (in support of Zantac, OTC ranitidine and Propulsid) and medical societies (North America Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and the American Liver Foundation, on hepatitis B awareness). Sifor worked with The Mayo Clinic on a multimedia scientific exhibit for Digestive Disease Week 1997. He has organized numerous opinion-leader advisory boards and developed GI and infectious disease publication plans.

International experience includes an international HIV conference supported by NIH, satellite symposia in cardiology & gastroenterology and the European launch of a rheumatoid arthritis brand.

Sifor also offers journal experience. At Practical Cardiology, Sifor edited clinical case studies and commissioned medical illustrations.


Valerie S. Samson (Associate Director)

brings a broad spectrum of project management, research and client stewardship skills as a project manager. She managed multiple speakers bureaus for Inside Edge, coordinating speaker schedules with rep requests and fulfillment. She also works in business development, particularly with the organization’s medical societies.

Valerie’s background includes outpatient care for Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, coordinating services and records for patients, physicians and insurance companies.

Valerie completed a BA in English from Monmouth University in 2007, where she graduated with honors and was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the English National Honor Society.


Clare E. Hutchinson, M.S. (Associate Director)

has experience managing a wide array of projects for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and data management companies.  With a specialty in qualitative market research, she has managed, moderated, and analyzed multiple market research projects for both large and small companies.  Clare has worked extensively in the areas of: managed care, oncology, hematology, hypertension, and data management systems.

Currently, she oversees a managed care panel of experts throughout industry and trade.  The panel, the Council of Strategic Healthcare Advisors, is used by many Inside Edge Consulting clients to gain insights from the managed care perspective.  Completed projects have assisted clients in decision making around issues such as packaging, clinical trial endpoints, competitor landscapes, in-licensing, and the Affordable Care Act.

Clare completed her M.S. in International Marketing at Saint Joseph's University in 2008. She worked as a graduate assistant in the Executive Pharmaceutical Marketing office, helping to increase awareness of the program offerings and gaining an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry. 

Clare teaches ESL to adults at a local community center.  She is also actively involved in the Villanova University Alumni network and volunteer association. 


Gina M. Maggi (Project Manager)

comes to IEC from a large market research firm with a specialization in healthcare. She has conducted both domestic and international qualitative and quantitative projects including –but not limited to—concept and message testing, patient journey mapping, buying process, positioning and social listening research, chart audits, mobile application testing, and pulse and ATU studies. Most recently, her areas of focus have been autoimmune disorders, Hemophilia A, men's health, oncology, stem cell transplantation, and atrial fibrillation.

Gina received her Bachelor's degree from Cornell University with a major in Development Sociology. Her studies focused on global health and nutrition, as well as policy analysis and management. Internships she has held include smoking cessation campaign effectiveness research and higher education direct marketing.
